The Memphis Rock 'n' Soul Museum is excited to introduce Memphis Musicology, the only podcast on earth dedicated to an exploration of the past, present, and future of Memphis music. Now in its second season, Memphis Musicology shines a light on some of the lesser-known figures in the city's rich musical history, all of whom made major contributions to American music (or at the very least produced some killer tunes).

Past episodes have covered everything from Arthur Lee, the Memphis musician who helped to spark the psychadelic music revolution in California, to the Memphis Jug Band, a group who helped to define the Memphis blues sound during the 1920s and who inspired everyone from The Grateful Dead to Nas. Host Ezra Wheeler also frequently interviews the musicians, writers, and promoters who are at the forefront of keeping the Memphis music tradition thriving. Past guests include rapper Don Lifted, saxophonist Marque Boyd, and R&B and funk duo The PRVLG.
